Step 1 Keep your family alive
Tutorial main menu
Click on the appropriate section in the youtube video to see the short tutorials. The tutorial is divided into 3 parts:
part 1 how to setup a shop
part 2 how to keep your familymembers alive
part 3 how to produce and sell
In each part you will see an example of how to do these things.
Your family members require meals and baths. The health of a character controlled by you, will remain at 100 points as long as you manage to give it a meal and a bath each season (every real day). In other words if you manage to keep the sanitation and nutrients points of that character at 100 points.
You can produce a meal at the Culina or kitchen in your home. You need several kinds of food to produce a meal. Which kinds of food you require, depends on the type of meal. There is an overview of the required foods at the bottom of the culina. Select the type of meal and click on the cook button.
With your meals prepared you can feed your family members at the triclinium. One meal is required per character to set the nutrients points to 100 of the character fed by you. The type of meal required depends on the class of the character. You can see an overview of the meals you have and family members class at the top of the triclinium page. See this paragraph for more information.
Select a family member and click on the eat button, to feed your family member.
In addition to meals, your family also requires pottery and furniture in the triclinium. You need 1 piece of pottery and 1 piece of furniture for each living family member you have. If you do not have enough pottery or furniture, then you will not be able to feed your family members. So in such a situation you may need to produce pottery or furniture, or buy it a workshop or at a market fair, permitted the barbarian traders are available.
You can have your family members take a bath at a thermae. At a thermae, select a character and click on the take bath button, this will set the sanitation value to 100 points. You need to pay a fee of a few uncia to the government, each time you let a family member take a bath. If you do not have the money to pay this small fee, then you are in big trouble.
Step 2 Clothe your family
You can clothe your family members at the cubiculum. The type of clothing a character requires depends on the class, job and marital status. See this paragraph for more information.
Characters who have a job require clothing to perform their job. For example a male shopkeeper requires a tunic, so if this character has no tunic, then it will not be able to produce resources.
Step 3 Getting a workshop
To get a workshop, first you need to go to a vicus somewhere in the city. Find a workshop in the list where it says owner is none. Click on that taberna and then click to buy that taberna. You may have only one workshop.
Next go to your new home and go to the pergula. Select a type of shop or workshop from the dropdown list and click on the button. That is all there is to it, you now have a workshop.
Now that you have a workshop, you need to get employees to produce resources in your workshop. Go to the tablinum in your home. Select an unemployed family member (proletarius class) and select shopkeeper from the dropdown list and click on the button.
Now that you have shopkeepers and a workshop, you can produce goods. Go to the pergula, select a shopkeeper, fill in a number in the textbox and click on the button. You require a certain amount of resources to produce goods. Your shopkeeper requires clothing to produce resources. A shopkeeper cannot produce any more resources this season if the fatigue has reaced 100 points. See this paragraph for more information.
Step 4 Getting a farm
To get a farm, first you need to leave the city of Roma and click on the link called world. This will take you to the worldmap (main view). In the worldmap click on a red dot, to go to a region. Find a region that is not owned by the barbarians, but by SPQR also known as the Senate PopulesQue Romanus, or the Senate and the People of Rome. In the middle of the region page you will see a line where it says something similar to, "you have no farm here". Fill in a number below 20 in the textbox and click to buy land. Congratulations you now have a small farm.
If you buy 20 or more iugera, then your small farm will become a villa, and if you reach a number greater than 500 iugera your small farm will become a latifundia. You require building materials to build a villa or latifundia.
Now that you have a farm, you need to get employees to cultivate your land. Go to the tablinum in your home. Select an unemployed family member (proletarius class) and select farmer from the dropdown list and click on the button.
Now that you have farmers and land, you need to cultivate some land. Go to the peristylium in your home. Select a farmer and select a type of land from the dropdown list and click on the cultivate button. That is all there is to it!
Livestock is born during the spring season, while harvests are collected during the autumn season. Pasture is set fallow in the summer season and farmland is set fallow in the winter season.

You need money to buy goods. The amount of money required, is the price of the resources multiplied by the amount you want to buy. The costs of your purchase cannot exceed the amount of money you have.
Step 6 Selling
You can sell resources at the following places:
Any goods that you have produced can be sold at your workshop. All agricultural resources have to be sold at the forum. Any other goods or resources you have, cannot be sold.
To sell agricultural resources you need to open a market stall. You are required to pay a small fee every time you sell goods at the forum and thus open a market stalls. The market stall fee is equal to the thermae fee.
Go to your taberna.
To set a price for a resource, you need to fill in a number in the textbox corresponding to the price and select the resource you want to price and click on the button.
To sell a resource, you need to fill in an amount in the textbox corresponding to sale and select the resource you want to sell and click on the button.
Step 7 Equiping a recruit
You can equip a recruit with military gear at your alea. Select a recruit, then select a piece of military equipment and click on the equip button.
Step 8 Elections
